Four of the eight bets paid and returned 8.64 points between them, while the other four cost seven. Hye-Jin Choi led the Buick LPGA Shanghai after every round and finished second in both of her markets, Daniel Hillier was second in Delhi after an opening 74, and three of the bets were lost to withdrawals, which cost six of the seven points.

Hye-Jin Choi 22/1, 1pt e/w, +4.50

Buick LPGA Shanghai, outright, second at 10 under

Choi shot 64, 74, 69 and 71 and finished one behind Ruoning Yin, with Amy Yang a shot further back. She led after all four rounds, by three after the opening 64, by two after a 74 in round two and by one over Yang going into Sunday, with Yin two behind. During Sunday’s front nine she was three shots clear. Yin was the only one of the three overnight leaders to break 70, shooting 68 and making a late birdie on the 16th, and Choi’s 71 left her a shot short of a first LPGA win. The outright paid five places at 1/4, so the place part returned 5.50 in profit and the win part lost one point, a net of +4.50.

Hye-Jin Choi, Top Asian 16/1, 0.5pts e/w, +1.50

Buick LPGA Shanghai, second Asian player

Yin is from China, so the winner of the tournament also won the Asian market, and Choi was second in it. With four places at 1/4, the place part returned 2.00 in profit and the win part lost half a point, a net of +1.50. Together her two bets returned +6.00.

Daniel Hillier 22/1, 0.5pts e/w, +1.70

DP World India Championship, second at 19 under

Hillier opened with a 74 and was tied 85th, eight shots off the lead. He then shot 64, 64 and 67, the lowest total in the field over the last three rounds, five better than the winner’s. He was tied 12th after round two and second after round three, but Eugenio Chacarra had a 63 on Saturday and led by five. Hillier cut that to two with a closing 67, and Chacarra’s 70 held on for his third title of 2026. Ten places at 1/5 meant the place part returned 2.20 in profit and the win part lost half a point, a net of +1.70.

Allisen Corpuz 9/1, 0.75pts e/w, +0.94

Buick LPGA Shanghai, Top North American, tied 18th at 1 over

Corpuz shot 73, 71, 75 and 70. Alison Lee was the top North American, tied sixth at 5 under, and only Jennifer Kupcho and Gaby López of Mexico were also ahead of her, so she was in the four places whether or not Mexico counts. The place part returned 1.69 in profit and the win part lost 0.75, a net of +0.94.

Amy Yang 10/3, 1pt win, −1.00

Buick LPGA Shanghai, in-play after round three, third at 8 under

The Saturday night tip was Yang, one shot behind Choi, with Yin two back named as the only other realistic threat. Yang was two over early in the final round, closed with a 72 and finished three behind Yin. Of the two chasers, Yang was the wrong choice.

Min Woo Lee 14/1 and 4/1, −4.00

DP World India Championship, outright and Top Rest of World, withdrew in round two

Lee opened with a 71 on his India debut, one under par. He played five holes of round two before play stopped for darkness on Friday evening, and then withdrew with a stomach illness that had brought on back spasms. A player who has started the tournament and then withdraws loses his bets, so both were settled as losses: 3.00 on the 14/1 outright, 1.5 points each way, and 1.00 on the 4/1 Top Rest of World bet, half a point each way. They were the biggest losses of the week.

Auston Kim 20/1, 1pt e/w, −2.00

Buick LPGA Shanghai, withdrew after round one

Kim opened with a 75 and withdrew before the second round. The outright was settled as a loss of two points, the whole stake.

Left out

Jeeno Thitikul, left out at about 9/2, finished tied eighth at 3 under, and Miyu Yamashita withdrew. In Delhi, Tommy Fleetwood tied for fifth and Rory McIlroy tied for 42nd, so leaving out the joint-favourites cost nothing.

The week

Six of the seven points lost came from the withdrawals of Lee and Kim, and the four bets that paid covered them with 1.64 to spare. Choi’s two placed bets were the difference between a loss and a profit. The season stands at +7.98 points from 38.5 points staked.

Prices and terms are those posted on Wednesday 14 October, except Yang’s, which was posted on Saturday 17 October. Each-way stakes are per part, so the eight bets were 12.5 points in all, and all eight are settled on the record. The original tips and reasoning are in the preview and the final-round tip. The next card goes up on the home page before Thursday’s first tee.

Every tip is on the record, win or lose.
